Traction Works was born in 2015 as a complement to The Fat Tire Farm - a dedicated mountain bike shop based in Portland, Oregon. While we’d serviced suspension at the Farm since the 1990’s, the increasing volume of suspension service presented the opportunity to create a standalone business. And that's exactly what we did.

We sharpened our focus to create a suspension service center with highly specialized techs who work on nothing but suspension all day, every day. Our end goal was to offer expert suspension service to riders both locally and all across the west. 

We’re able to pull from our passion for riding and for technical excellence to offer the level of service, attention to detail, and rider experience we provide. Being passionate mountain bikers first and foremost, we can quantify our experience on the trail towards suspension setup & tuning. Combine that with 20+ years of working on the leading edge of suspension components (and observing its impressive progression),  we’ve been able to accumulate a huge knowledge base that we apply to helping riders find their ideal suspension setup and keep it running perfectly. 

What began as a one-man operation 8 years ago has grown to a team of technicians who overhaul over 1000 forks and shocks per year. Even after all the forks and shocks that have come across our work benches, we’re still loving the work just as much as day one. With all that said, we're stoked to work with you on your suspension.
